Affecting IDFPR-licensed healthcare and human service professionals

Several IDFPR-licensed professionals with CE requirements are required to complete training on these topics.

IDFPR-required CEs include the following topics/categories: 

  • 1 hour Sexual Harassment Prevention training (IL Public Act 100-0762, for all licenses that require CEs)
  • 1 hour Implicit Bias Awareness training (Public Act 102-0004, applies to all major healthcare and human services licensed professionals)
  • 1 hour Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias training (IL Public Act 102-0399 applies to major healthcare and human services licensed professionals serving adults over 26 years old) 
  • 1 hour Cultural Competency (IDFPR Section 1130.525 applies to major healthcare and human services licensed professionals every 6 years)


• Not all topics for all licenses are listed; however, the listed above are required for most healthcare and human service professionals. Individual licenses may require additional topics; check your specific licensing requirements. 

  • IDFPR does not update each CE requirements consistently in each license CE factsheet and may include your license within each bill/ updated administrative rules.

    6. If you scored less than 80%/failed, RETAKE the exam.

FAQ

  • Q: I am not a therapist, can I still use this course for my Illinois-required training?

    A: Yes, ANY Illinois licensed HEALTHCARE professionals with continuing education requirements may take these courses from ANY CE provider, that includes Spring Advisory, which is an IDFPR approved CE provider recognized the the state.

  • Q: I finished my course, where is my CE evaluation and exam link?

    A: On your course website, look on the left-hand side menu, and find the menu item to the CE eval and exam link. 

  • Q: I finished my exam, but I did not get my certificate, what happened?

    A: There are a few usual reasons: 1. Your email was misspelled. 2. You didn't hit SUBMIT when you finished your exam. 3. You didn't pass the exam. 4. It's in your spam folder. 5. Less common-The Internet failed when you submitted your exam. 6. Sometimes, other mechanical failures; we don't know. You can always retake the exam to get the certificate resent to you. 

  • Q. I passed the exam by 70%, where is my certificate?

    A: You must pass the exam by over 80% in order to obtain your CE certificate, go back to your course page and access the CE link, retake the exam until you pass by 80%. You will be awarded your CE certificate upon passing at 80% or above.

  • Q: I created an account and paid for the course, but when I go to the dashboard, I didn't see my course, what happened?

    A: We often see people create two accounts by mistake due to the misspelling of email addresses. Then the paid course reside in the wrong-email-address account. Unfortunately, this requires manual help. Reach out to the Admin for assistance.
